Bucks mission brief

The lads step into a locked room with 75 minutes on the clock and nowhere to go but through it: cryptic codes, hidden compartments, a twist nobody sees coming, and a room that's theirs alone for the whole challenge. Crack it, or don't, and the crew rolls straight into a sports bar with your table already held, pool cues up, and the Buck handed his own jug before he's sat down. From there it's a modern bar with your table reserved, a stacked beef burger landing in front of every legend, and two hours of free-flowing drinks that don't stop. The Buck cops a bonus round on top, mostly so the boys have something new to rib him about.

Sherlock And Schooners is built for the crew that wants brains before beers: a locked-room challenge to kick the night off, then two venues that carry the momentum straight through to last drinks. Three stops, one crew, and nobody standing around deciding what happens next, because it's already sorted before you've read the clues.

Nobody's googling three different bookings at midnight trying to string a night together, and nobody's the one calling round pubs asking if they can squeeze in eight blokes on a Saturday. That part's already done.

The night opens locked in, quite literally: your crew and your crew alone, 75 minutes on the clock, in a room that's yours for the whole session. Cryptic codes, hidden compartments, a twist that sends the group scrambling in a direction nobody called. Every bloke finds his role fast: the one spotting the detail everyone else walked past, the one making the call nobody else would, the one keeping the group calm when the clock starts sounding like a countdown to something worse than a locked door. Whether the final lock clicks open with two minutes to spare or the room beats you, the story gets told either way.

Cracked or not, the crew rolls straight from the last clue into a sports bar with your table already held. Pool cues are up before the first round lands, and the Buck's handed his own jug, already half convinced someone's trying to slow him down before the pool comp starts.

From there it's fast pours and faster banter, cues clacking, someone loudly relitigating the twist from the escape room, someone else insisting they solved the whole thing and nobody else helped. Wins on the table stack up next to grudges that'll last the rest of the night.

When the group's ready to eat, it rolls into a modern bar with your table reserved and waiting, no negotiating a booth for eight on a Saturday night. A stacked beef burger and chips lands for every legend, and two hours of free-flowing drinks, house beer, cider, wine and soft drinks, keep arriving without anyone flagging down a bartender. The Buck cops a bonus round on top of all that, mostly so he's got something in hand while the group relitigates the escape room one more time, this time with him as the prime suspect in whatever went wrong.

And you? You were in the room solving clues with everyone else, not standing outside coordinating a group booking over three separate group chats. Somewhere around the second venue, someone's going to ask how you pulled a night like this together without anyone having to argue about where to go next. However much credit you take for that, it's still less than you deserve.

One Sherlock And Schooners runs per date: one crew locked in a room working out who moved first, then working out who's shouting the drinks order loudest three hours later. Check your date before the case closes on you.
