Bucks mission brief

Thirty-five minutes of full-throttle jet boat spray out on the harbour sets the tone: sharp turns, walls of water, the Buck holding on and loving it. From there it's straight into a reserved table at our waterfront bar, jugs of beer landing as you sit down and a bonus round poured just for him, before the crew moves into a sleek city bar with its own reserved table, mains off a proper pub menu (burger and chips, parma, or pizza), a two-hour drinks package running the whole time, and another bonus round for the Buck to finish it off. Three stops, zero standing around, every table already sorted. One run like this lands per date, jet boat included, so check your date while the slot's still yours to grab.

From Thrillin to Chillin does exactly what the name promises, except it undersells how much chill actually happens once the throttle's off, because there's a full second stop's worth of it still to come after the first.

The crew gathers at the marina in Darling Harbour, the skyline sitting behind everyone, salt already in the air, that quiet stretch of anticipation before the day tips into something worth telling. Nobody's rushing. Bags get dropped, someone cracks the first joke about who's going to spew, and the boat's sitting there waiting.

Then it's aboard, and the calm ends fast. Thirty-five minutes of full-throttle jet boat, and the captain isn't easing anyone into it: sharp turns throw the group sideways without warning, spray comes over the bow in sheets, and the deck tilts hard enough that grabbing a rail becomes compulsory. The Buck's somewhere between white-knuckled and grinning the whole way through, and every spin adds another line to the group chat highlight reel that gets replayed for months.

By the time the throttle finally eases, the whole crew's soaked, buzzing, and more than ready for a beer that isn't served mid-turn.

Next up is our waterfront bar, right on the water with the group's own reserved table already waiting. Jugs of beer land the second everyone's seated, the Buck's bonus beer lands alongside it, and there's a discounted cocktail list running for anyone after something stronger than a pint. Nobody's queuing at a bar working out how to get ten drink orders in at once: it's already sorted, already poured.

From there the group moves, where the second half of the night is just as locked in as the first.  A sleek city bar has the table reserved and waiting, and the feed lands properly: burger and chips, parma, or pizza, whatever each bloke's after. A two-hour drinks package keeps beers, ciders, wines and softies running the whole time, nobody tapping a card at the bar, and the Buck picks up a second bonus round on the house, because one bonus drink in a night like this was never going to be enough.

By now nobody's asking what's next, because you've already sorted it: the boat, both reserved tables, the feed, both rounds for the Buck. When the group tells this story later, and they will, you're the one who gets the credit for pulling it together.

One run like this lands per date, jet boat included, so check your date while the marina slot's still yours to grab.
